Dear fellow students.
I became interested in the teaching of listening after reading about it in P. Gibbons book Scaffolding Language, Scaffolding Learning. For my research I designed a lesson course focusing on one-way listening. I created activities to tune the students’ listening skills and i wanted the students to realize the importance of being able to listen for information.
I did my research in a 1st grade at an international school in Shanghai, China. Since the students here are from all over the world the use of message abundancy became an important element to ensure that my teaching could be a success.
This was my research question:
How can I plan and implement a teaching sequence focusing on teaching listening, taking into account a multicultural classroom?
